YOUR TRIP
J 1 NOUAKCHOTT - TERJIT
Arrival in Nouakchott on the Casablanca flight around 1:45 AM, transfer to the hotel (30 minutes away). Overnight stay.
Transfer by minibus and 4x4 to reach the small oasis of Terjit. Approximately 5 to 6 hours drive (400 km).
Picnic lunch in the Terjit palm grove. In the afternoon, meet our camel team and our cook.
We reach our first bivouac in the heart of the desert, under the stars.
Overnight stay in the bivouac.
J 2 TERJIT - LEMEILEH
After a hearty breakfast, our trek begins, and we set off for a week of immersion at the pace of our camel caravan. We start with the magnificent N'tezent Canyon. We'll have a picnic lunch before reaching the White Valley at the Lemeileh well.
Overnight camping.
3 hours of walking in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
J 3 PUITS DE HASSI LEMEILEH – PASSE DE TIFOUJAR
This morning we reach the "El Abiod" wadi, meaning "White Valley" in the local language; picnic. We then ascend the Tifoujar pass, one of the most beautiful panoramas of the trip.
We continue our hike across the plateau until we reach our campsite.
4 hours of walking in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
J 4 OASIS DE GLEÏTAT - ERG AMATLICH
We hike across the Ibi plateau before reaching the Gleïtat Oasis. We enjoy the refreshing shade of the palm trees where we have our picnic.
We continue towards Erg Amatlich, where the dunes reappear, softening the rocky landscape. We camp at the foot of the dunes.
Hiking: 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
J 5 DUNES DE L'ERG AMATLICH
A morning stroll in the cool shade of the date palms. We pass through a few villages and leave the palm grove heading towards Erg Amatlich. We cross a sandy plain dotted with grassy patches. In the afternoon, we walk towards the great dunes. Our steps lead us to the entrance of Erg Amatlich. We gradually gain altitude and enjoy a magnificent view of the dune ridges.
Overnight camping.
Approximately 3.5 hours of walking in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon.
J 6 DUNES DE L'ERG AMATLICH
Our goal for the day is to cross the Erg Amatlich in its entirety, traversing its succession of dunes. It will be one of the most beautiful landscapes of our trip. The tall, smooth, perfect golden dunes are a delight. We climb and descend, and wherever we look, dunes stretch as far as the eye can see. Our caravan passes us, making the landscape even more romantic. Late in the morning, we glimpse the other side of the erg and enjoy our picnic in the shade of an acacia tree. We resume our trek and leave the vast expanse of dunes to reach our campsite. With emotion, we listen by the firelight as our guide and camel drivers recount their lives. The meal is as delicious as ever.

J 7 OASIS D'AZOUEÏGA
We take advantage of another morning's walk to leave the dunes and reach the Adrar plateau. We finish our trek at the Azoueïga oasis, which stretches out like a mirage on the western side of the erg. A short stroll through the palm grove and a visit to the beautiful Azoueïga dune.
Overnight camping.
3.5 hours of walking in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon.
J 8 OASIS D'AZOUEÏGA - NOUAKCHOTT
Early departure for Nouakchott, picnic lunch en route.
Visit to Nouakchott's fishermen's beach. Dinner at a guesthouse and transfer to the airport around midnight.
J 9 FLIGHT TO PARIS FROM NOUAKCHOTT
